get past the body:

as a turn in the provinces:

tourist manifesto:
resurfaced track the moon-
light greaves in gladness:

the body lifts, & not
without strict consequence:

unriddling swatch or blur
of lilac, tungsten:

grayscaled: enhespered:

a savage likeness: unstrung
from will or, Do you
like what you doth see:

half-shepherd, half-buckle:

the arena’s shadow
seeps into the mainframe

& the body quickens,
guides: its avid recompense:

this lissome plangency:

surgical cathedrals of snow:

 

Biography

G.C. WALDREP‘s most recent collection is Archicembalo (Tupelo Press, 2009), which won the Dorset Prize. His next, in collaboration with John Gallaher, is Your Father on the Train of Ghosts (forthcoming from BOA Editions in April 2011). His poems have appeared recently in the The American Poetry Review, New England Review, Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Harper’s, The Nation, and other journals. He lives in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and teaches at Bucknell University.
